Hey, I’m Javier Rivera. A Photographer, Storyteller and the one-man team behind Rivera Eye Photography

I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and moved to the United States when I was 15. Photography started as a hobby — I posted a few shots from a trip to Chicago, and a couple loved my style so much they hired me to shoot their wedding. That one moment changed everything. What started as a passion project became the business I pour my heart into every day.

I’m completely self-taught, and I’m proud of that. Everything I know, I’ve learned by doing — by showing up, experimenting, and never being afraid to try something new. That fearlessness is what my clients love most. I don’t just follow trends; I create images that feel alive with color, emotion, and energy.

I specialize in weddings, quinceañeras, portraits, maternity shoots, and studio sessions — but honestly, if it’s a milestone worth celebrating, I want to be there to capture it. I also speak Spanish, so we can work together in whichever language feels most comfortable.

Based in Kansas City, I’m always happy to travel.

My favorite part of this job, It’s the moment I deliver the final images and get to see the look on my clients’ faces. That reaction — that’s why I do this.
